Ervin Clark (84) of Bloomington, IL and formerly of Gridley passed away at Heritage Health in Normal on April 17, 2015 at 5:25 a.m.
He was born on May 8, 1930 to Harrison and Lona (Looney) Heath Clark in Richlands, NC. Ervin married Lorraine A. Hartman on February 14, 2004 in Bradenton, Florida. They became snow birds living in Bradenton, FL for six months and the other six months in Gridley.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Clark; a daughter, Deann Benbrook; and three step-sons, Wesley Hoobler, Dominick Reeves, and Terry Punke.
Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Clark, of Normal; a sister, Marie Howard of North Carolina;
two sons, David (Bonnie) Clark of Bradenton, FL and Dean Clark of Mishicot, WI; a step-son, James (Connie) Punke of Yorkville; three step-daughters, Nancy (Chip) Schuler, Diana (Mike) Uphoff, and Barbara (Randy) Ramsey all of El Paso; and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Ervin was a veteran serving the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1953. He worked for over 45 years as a Pipe fitter. Ervin was an avid Green Bay Packers fan who lived life to the fullest. In his later years, Ervin enjoyed golf and shooting pool with his buddies.
Cremation rites were accorded. A graveside service with military rites will be held at Gridley Cemetery with ministers from the Apostolic Church of Gridley officiating on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Gridley Emergency Medical Services. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home is assisting the family with services.
