Keith Alan Olson, 56, of Henry, passed away peacefully Friday January 13, 2017, 8:30 pm at his home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Memorial services will be held Saturday January 21, 2017, 10:00 am at the La Prairie Presbyterian Church. Private family burial will follow at the church Cemetery. The Rev. Melinda Stevenson will officiate.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Shandy’s Bar & Grill, Henry, after 11:30 am Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Education fund for his children, Vitas Hospice, or Illinois Cancer Care, Peoria. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is assisting the family with arrangements.
Keith was born May 17, 1960 in Princeton, IL to William F. and Marlene (Carlson) Olson.
Surviving is his other half, Michelle Monier, of Henry, his children, Karlie Elizabeth Olson and Kody William Olson, both at home, Karlie and Kody’s half-sisters, Kaycie Whitmer, of Lacon and Kylie (Brenden) Bogner, of Sparland, and Michelle’s son, Marshall Rinaldo, of Mark, his mother, Marlene Olson (Gene) Froland, of Henry, his father, William (Yvonne) Olson, of Mesa, AZ, two sisters, Rita (Bob) Smith and Kristi (Steve) Smith, both of Henry. Also surviving are his nephews, Brad (Sybil) Schrock, Brian (Melissa) Schrock, niece, Allison Eckberg, all of Henry and great nieces and nephews, along with his furry companion’s Jade and Ding Dong.
His brother, Steven Olson, preceded him in infancy.
Keith had worked for Lyle Wolf Construction, Princeton, IDOT, District 6 in Princeton for several years, and later worked with his brother-in-law, Bob Smith and Pavement Maintenance, of Henry. He operated Keith Olson Builders. He was known for his fine workmanship.
Keith loved to show quarter horses, hunting, fishing and boating. He enjoyed most spending time with his family and watching his children play ball.
