D. Brian Thomas

D. Brian Thomas, 74, of Lexington, IL, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his residence.
Cremation rites were accorded and a celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington with Pastor Kendall Coffman officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of service on Thursday at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Donate Life, America.
Brian was born June 2, 1942 in Arrowsmith, IL the son of John Albert “Al” and Zella P. Owens Thomas.
Surviving are four children, Tess Thomas of Hollister, MO, Brian Scott (Ruth) Thomas and Les (Patti) Thomas, and Candace Corkery all of Lexington; five step children, Jeff Andrews and Mike Craig both of Bloomington, Michael Clyden of Arizona, Angela (Mark) Tusing of Normal, and Amy Clyden of Pontiac; one sister Deb (Lyle) Behr of Minnesota and one sister-in-law Anne Thomas of Lexington; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Joyce, a step-son Jody Clyden, a sister Sharon and two brothers, John and Steven.
Brian was the water superintendent for 29 years for the City of Lexington. He was a longtime volunteer for the local Emergency Management Agency. He was a member of the Lexington Sportsman’s Club and passed on his love of hunting and fishing to his entire family. You would often find him enjoying the outdoors, local music acts and Thursday night dinners out with friends. The family would like to send a special thanks to Anne Thomas and Reggie Dick for their compassion, companionship and care of our father.
