Jane Burroughs

Jane L. Burroughs, 82, of Pontiac, IL passed away at 9:18 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, IL.
Cremation rites were accorded and a celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso with Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Visitation is from 9:30-10:30 am. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Jane was born September 23, 1934 in Eureka, IL the daughter of Charles V. and Wilma Lois Garey Lampe. She married Wayne Burroughs on April 11, 1954 in El Paso, IL. He died June 4, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters Delora Henkel (Jesse Howard) of Pontiac and Patricia Burroughs of Cottonwood, AZ; five grandchildren Barry (Grace) Johnson of Pontiac, Evan (Janelle) Henkel of Fairbury, Lane (Kristin) Henkel of Ft. Collins, CO, Sarah Geiger of Sedona, AZ, and Cameron Geiger of Cottonwood, AZ; five great grandchildren Skylar, Conner, Owen, Jack, and Sadie; one brother Tillman (Sharon) Lampe of Conifer, CO; and three sister-in-laws Barbara Burroughs of Normal, Pat Burroughs of Edgewater, FL, and Dee Burroughs of Highlands Ranch, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Charles Lampe Jr. and Jack Lampe.
Jane worked in the business office of Behlen Manufacturing in El Paso for over 17 years and spent her latter years working in the financial office at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, retiring 20 years later in 1999. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and most important to her was spending time with her family. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
