Arthur Robert “Art” Ausili, 74, of Washington, IL, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was born in Cook County, IL, and was the first child of Georgene and Otto Ausili.

 

He was educated at Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bloomington, IL and went on to receive education at Illinois State University and the University of Illinois.

 

He is survived by three children, Arthur Ausili, Jr., Jason Ausili, and Angela Bernales. He also leaves his brother, Richard Ausili; his sister, Jean Graham; his brother, James Ausili; his brother, Dan Ausili; his sister, Annette Benjamin; his brother, Kenneth Ausili; and many close friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Esther and his parents, Georgianna and Otto Ausili.

 

Art served the manufacturing community as both a tool and die maker and engineer for more than 30 years, most recently at Tri-City Machine Products, Inc., where he retired in 2008, and previously at E.M Smith & Co.

 

He was dedicated to helping those in need and spent many years ensuring that elderly and handicapped individuals had a church they could call home and that those that were hungry had nourishment. He had a keen artistic ability and was passionate about studying the bible, bicycling, playing the banjo, attending bluegrass festivals, and building and flying radio controlled airplanes.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17th from 6-9pm at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington Chapel, 1115 E. Washington Street. A memorial service will be 1:30 PM Friday, August 18, 2017, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home Bloomington, IL. Rev. Jack Cook will be officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hidden Manna Pantry, 644 Park Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.
