Dolores L. “Dee” Hibbs, 85, of Lexington, IL passed away at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, Lexington, with the Rev. Garry Gromley officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to her church, Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue (CISAR) Colfax, or Illinois Cancer Care in Normal.
Dolores was born October 11, 1931 in Carlock, IL the daughter of Melvin and Blanche Yoder Raber. She married Harry E. Hibbs on April 24, 1987. He died March 13, 2004.
Surviving are three daughters Vickie (Mike) Tuttle of Normal, Sherrie Patton of Lexington and Julie (Vernon) Godbey of Bloomington; three step-children George (Neisha) Hibbs of Cadillac, MI, Ed (Christy) Hibbs of Athens, and Melinda (Mike) Higgins of Chenoa; Six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren and Teddy Agol or Uganda Compassionate Child that she sponsored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons Bryan Patton and Ryan Patton, and a sister and brother-in-law.
Dee was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lexington. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed scrapbooking. Dee was a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma who enjoyed spending time with her family and going to her grandkids sporting events.
