Rachel Aubree Dean age 25 of Normal IL passed away at 7:22 P.M. on Thursday Sept. 14, 2017at OSF St. Francis Med. Center Peoria IL. Her memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Steve Evans will be officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 PM-7:00 Wednesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Inurnment will be at 1:00 PM Thursday September 21, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to her family for a scholarship fund to be named later date.
Rachel was born August 4, 1992 in Cuttack, India. Surviving is her mother, Marcia Dean, Normal, IL, father, Conway Newton, Bloomington, IL,1 sister, Hannah Dean, Normal, IL, paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Conway Newton, Chicago, IL, aunts & uncles, Monica & Barry Moore, Mansfield, Texas, Melinda & Ken Buscher, Camdenton, Missouri, cousins, Alex (Amy) Moore, Chicago, IL, Jack Moore, San Diego, CA, Matthew, Mark and Michael Buscher, Camdenton, Missouri and her beloved dogs Jasper, Bridget and MacArthur.
Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Willet Dean, Evelyn Hartman and Rev. Charles Hartman.
Rachel graduated from Normal Community West High School 2011 where she was co-captain of the swim team. She graduated from Lincoln College in 2013 and later graduated from Illinois State University, Normal IL in May 2017. She was a swim coach for BNSC for 4 years and assistant swim coach for Normal Community West High School for 2 years. She started her dream job of teaching in August this year at Glenn Oak Elementary School, Peoria, IL. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rachel was spirited and full of laughter, kindhearted, thoughtful, energetic and hardworking, and she did not hold back. Honorary pall bearers are members past and present of the swim community of Bloomington Normal and Lincoln College, Lincoln, IL.
