Robert A. Bogner, 89, of Henry, IL, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017, at his home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Henry, with Fr. John Bosco officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Henry, with military rites by the Henry American Legion Post #323. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, 513 Carroll Street, Henry, with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or Henry Ambulance Service.
Robert was born on June 20, 1928, in Henry, IL, the son of Theodore and Clara Bickerman Bogner. He married Marilyn J. Judd on February 27, 1954, in Henry. She died on June 12, 2017.
Surviving are six children, Larry A. (Sarah) Bogner of Lacon, Linda (James) Coleman of Charleston, Gregory G. (Rhonda) Bogner and Jeffery L. (Linda Hurd) Bogner, both of Henry, Kathryn Ann (Tim) Dixon of Chillicothe and Michelle (Bryan) Gibson of Henry; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Valarie J. Bogner; four brothers, Louie, Eldon, Don and Ray; and one grandson, Christopher Bogner.
Bob was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Henry American Legion Post #323 in Henry.
Bob was a lifelong farmer in the Henry area. He had also been Whitefield Township Supervisor and a Board Member of the Henry Grade School. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He had also served as a Board Member for LaPrairie Mutual Insurance Company.
Bob was a loving dad, grandpa and great-grandpa who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
