John Franklin “Frank” Roberts, 83, of Pontiac, IL passed away at 3:10 pm on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Accolade Healthcare Center in Pontiac, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 pm prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Entombment will follow services at Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Pontiac, IL where military rites will be accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston County Cancer Fund.

Frank was born April 14, 1934 and raised in Pontiac, IL a son of Edwin and Mattie (Rich) Roberts. He married Jacqulyn “Jackie” Roberts on June 17, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac, IL. She passed away on October 1, 2012. He is survived by two sons: Ricky Joe (Joyce) Roberts of Texas, and Ronald Allen (Tami) Roberts of Pontiac; one daughter-in-law: Kathy Roberts of Pontiac; eight grandsons: Bradley, Brian, Kevin, Ryan, John, Jake, Chris, and Craig Roberts; one great granddaughter: Katie Lynn; two great grandsons: Jackson Lee and Spencer Jackson; one sister: Deloris Wiechmann of Flanagan, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son: Randy Lee Roberts; and his siblings: Gene Roberts, Dick Roberts, and Mary Lou Hedrick.

Frank served our country in the United States Army stationed over in Europe in the 1950’s. He was a member of the Pontiac American Legion and the VFW. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac.

He liked to keep people on their toes, always having something clever to say. Frank was a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. His ornery smile will not be forgotten.
