Vivian E. Long, 98, of Lexington, IL passed away at 10:34 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center Normal, IL.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington. A graveside service will follow at Lexington Cemetery with Pastor Tyler Klein officiating. Memorials may be made to Peace Meals in Lexington.
Vivian was born May 21, 1919 in Lexington, IL the daughter of George C. and Ella Keister Siron. She married Charles H. Long Sr. on June 19, 1937 in Lexington. He died April 16, 1973.
Surviving are four sons Charles (Rose) Long Jr. of Bloomington, William Long of Bloomington, Dennis (Nancy) Long of Woodland, CA and Kevin Long of Normal; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister Audrey Pirot of San Jacinto, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, three brothers, and two grandchildren.
She was a member of the Lexington Community Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She worked at the Eureka Company for 18 years retiring in 1986. She was a longtime Cub fan. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed birds, flowers, plants and her cat. She was always very active and had a great sense of humor.
