Frederick Harold “Fred” Patterson

Frederick Harold “Fred” Patterson, 65, of Bloomington, IL formerly of Pontiac, IL passed away at 8:00 am on Friday, December 1, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Pontiac. According to the family’s wishes, cremation rites will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling arrangements for the family.

Fred was born January 9, 1952 in Pontiac, IL a son of Frederick Samuel and Mabel Golda (Marker) Patterson. He married Sherrie Watkins on May 14, 1994 in Bloomington, IL. She survives.

Also surviving is his step daughter: Christina (David) Cors of Deer Creek, IL; one sister: Karen Cook of Normal, IL; two granddaughters: Kaeleigh and Mikayla; two great grandsons: Dalton Jr. and Landyn; three nieces and one nephew; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Pastor Robert Patterson.

Fred was born and raised in the Pontiac area. He worked for 18 years for the City of Pontiac in road maintenance before moving to Bloomington and working for GATX for 10 years.

He enjoyed fishing, John Deere and Oliver tractors, very active in Thresherman’s Reunion, and he liked to cook and eat.

Fred was a loving husband, step father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

  1. Hi Sherrie, We are very sorry for your lose. It was good getting to now Fred again even though it was through the treatment center.
